We are looking for a game designer with expertise in card game mechanics, to join the team working on the upcoming title Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge, a free-to-play digital collectible card game set in the 41st millennium. The role will involve working on the design of all the core mechanics of the game, with a particular focus on the design of the card mechanics, to ensure they are fun to play, balanced and representative of each faction’s unique characteristics. It will involve close collaboration with the design, art and programming teams, to create a coherent and engaging game.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Research and understand in depth the underlying IP to be able to represent its lore, armies, characters and storyline through the game and card mechanics.
  • Design the card list for each army, including the names and abilities for each card, any new game mechanics, etc.
  • Collaborate with the art team to define the required artwork to match each card.
  • Document the detailed behavior of each mechanic to assist the programming team in its implementation.
  • Collaborate with the game design team to plan, design and execute a roadmap of time-limited in-game events and new content releases.
  • Work closely with the design and QA teams to ensure the cards and mechanics are thoroughly tested and play-tested.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Games Designer, with relevant experience working on card games in particular.

We are looking for a passionate narrative designer to join our team for the production and management of the story telling key elements of the upcoming title Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge, a free-to-play digital collectible card game set in the 41st millennium.

As a Narrative Designer, you will work closely with the design and art teams to develop a strong symbiotic relationship between the game’s mechanics, design, and structure and the narrative/story being used to support and enhance that structure.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Study, digest and summarize the lore and tone of the underlying IP, and design creative ways to encapsulate the game’s lore and storyline into the core mechanics, to provide a narrative backbone with minimal text assets
  • Develop new plot lines, story arcs and narrative beats to support the game timed events and content expansions, staying consistent with the underlying IP.
  • Write and review all in-game dialogue and text, and determine how it will be presented in the game.
  • Work closely with the Lead Designer and the rest of the development team to create realistic work plans and ensure the narrative elements are correctly integrated into the game.
  • Liaise with IP licensors when required, to ensure all narrative elements in the game are consistent with the IP guidelines, act on their feedback and ensure all text assets are approved by the licensor.
  • Work together with the Marketing team to support the creation of marketing texts and materials that are consistent with the game’s focus and live operations. 

Requirements:

  • Mastery of the English language is a must, with professional-level writing skills in fantasy or science-fiction themes.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Narrative Designer, Story Designer or Writer on a game development team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design, Creative Writing, Literature or an equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience in interactive storytelling, using both traditional and experimental systems and platforms, including dialogue implementation and environmental storytelling.

We are looking for a talented Content Writer with a deep knowledge about the Warhammer 40,000 universe to join our media and marketing team. Your role will involve creating valuable content to support the upcoming title Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge, a free-to-play digital collectible card game set in the 41st millennium, as well as other games developed by Everguild.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Write engaging content for the different communication channels related to Warpforge, such as web articles, newsletters, social media posts, etc., taking into account the brand strategy of the game, the lore and tone of Warhammer 40,000 and the peculiarities of each channel or social media network.
  • Contribute to the communications planning, by researching the communication strategies of competitors, staying up to date with the evolution of the game and the Warhammer IP, and developing ideas for new posts and content.
  • Assure all-around consistency for textual styles, pictures, fonts and tones in the content, staying consistent with the underlying IP.

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager with a deep understanding of games marketing and publishing to develop and drive the marketing strategy for new exciting and ambitious unannounced projects. As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for selecting the best go-to-market methods, developing the marketing plan and working closely with the development and user-acquisition teams to meet the marketing targets. You will ensure the consistency and effectiveness of the product branding and coordinate the publishing activities for the games.

  • Create the marketing plan for each game, coordinating with the development team to understand the core value proposition and unique selling points.
